Transcenders Inc (“we,” “us,” “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect through transcenders.app, how we use it, and the rights you have. If you have questions, email privacy@transcenders.app with “Privacy” in the subject line.
Information we collect
When you contact us. If you email us or use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, and whatever you choose to tell us. We use this only to respond to you.
When you donate. Online donations are processed by Zeffy, our donation platform. Zeffy collects your payment details and contact information to complete the gift and issue your tax receipt. We receive donor records (name, amount, date, contact details) but never see or store your full payment card information. Zeffy’s own privacy policy governs its handling of your data.
When you browse. Like most websites, we use cookies and similar technologies to understand how visitors use the site and to keep it working properly. See “Cookies and consent” below.
Cookies and consent
We use a consent management banner (provided by CookieYes) that asks for your permission before setting non-essential cookies. You can accept, reject, or customize your choices at any time through the banner’s settings link, which appears in the site footer.
Cookie categories we may use:
- Strictly necessary: required for the site to function (security, load balancing, remembering your consent choice). These do not require consent.
- Analytics: help us understand which pages families find useful, so we can improve them. These only run if you consent, and they support Google’s Consent Mode.
- Functional: remember preferences like your cookie choices.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to respond to your inquiries, process and acknowledge donations, improve our guides and tools, and comply with legal obligations (such as nonprofit record-keeping). We do not use your information for unrelated commercial purposes.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to request deletion of that information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share it). To exercise these rights, email privacy@transcenders.app with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will respond within the timeframes the law requires and will never discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Children’s privacy
Our resources are written for parents, caregivers, and adult family members. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under thirteen. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Future AI toolbox tools
As we release interactive tools (forms helpers, planners, directories), each tool that collects or processes family information will carry its own clear data disclosure explaining exactly what it collects, how it is used, and how long it is kept. We will never train models on your family’s private information without your explicit, separate consent.
Data security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including limiting access to those who need it to run the nonprofit. We keep contact and donation records as long as needed for our mission and legal obligations, then delete or anonymize them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a material way, we will post the updated version here with a new “last updated” date. For significant changes, we will also note them on our homepage.
